The 7 Universal Month in the 5 Universal Year: “I’m Going Out” Vs. “Oh No You’re Not.”

Earth.jpg

In my best attempt to impersonate (in text form) the famous introduction to that 1998 Barenaked Ladies song, "One Week:"

"IT'S BEEN…… one month in the brand new year! Still can't believe we got through 2020!" (For the record, I was inspired by this parody.) Look at me being so hip and in step with the times! #oncea90sgirlalwaysa90sgirl

Anyhoo. As I say every month: if you're new to this blog series, please check out this post first to better define the 5 Universal Year. What I'll be discussing are numerology influences on a larger scale. We see these influences in our headlines and the changing attitudes of the masses. They are different from our own individual Personal Years, which we feel on a far more personal level. The Universal Year indicates the lessons all of humanity may be learning as a whole.

January 2021 and the 6 Universal Month is in the books. For many of us, it didn't start off that great. Between COVID-19 still running the show, death rates piling up, white supremacy on the rise, and an attempted coup in one of the world's most influential countries, it was rather touch-and-go there for a while. However, with a mostly peaceful transfer of power in The States (past the coup attempt) and the slow yet continual rollout of the COVID-19 vaccination effort, things have simmered down to a tentative slow boil for the time being. If you'd like to read what I wrote for this past month and compare it to how the news played out, here you go

February brings us another 7 Universal Month. We just went through a 7 Universal Month in December 2020, so it may feel a little familiar or possibly like we are backpedaling in some ways. Patience, Dear Reader. In a few months, we will bust through to a new 1-9 monthly cycle. For now, we are still on the hook, stuck with the themes and lessons that began for us in June 2020. One day at a time, and we will get there. In the meantime, let's recap some of the themes that come with a 7 transit:

  • Being forced to go with the flow

  • Hidden truths being revealed

  • Having to cope with what is dealt us

  • Isolation and reflection

  • Having to wait, or proceeding with great caution and forethought

  • Forward momentum happens very, very slowly, if at all. Sometimes there's a stalemate.

So, how might this "Pause and Reflect" 7 Universal Month get along with the overarching noisy, "Let's-get-out-and-do-stuff" 5 Universal Year? If you envisioned two little girls on the playground yanking each other's pigtails, you'd have it about right.

  • The 5 is extroverted. The 7 is introverted.

  • The 5 shouts, "Move, move, move!" The 7 whispers, "Wait, wait, wait."

  • The 5 is restless and flirts with risk. The 7 is meticulous and patient.

  • The 5 loves excess. The 7 preaches conservation.

In other words, when these two are forced into closed quarters, there's a good chance for a rip-roaring game of tug-of-war.

The 7 rules mysteries, secrets, and the unseen. Under a 7 vibration, previously concealed information may rise to the surface and make itself known. Sometimes, these revelations can be shocking and unsettling in nature. What's more, oftentimes, we aren't in positions where we can run from what is revealed to us. The 7 is notorious for shoving truths up people's noses while gluing their feet to the floor. In other words, it ain't always pretty. That being said, it's not always that bad, either. Sometimes the 7 is simply a quiet time of meditating and waiting- but that in itself could also be problematic because that 5 does NOT like having to sit still and wait.

December was a different ballgame. We were still phasing out that 4 Universal Year, which made it very clear we had to make peace with the restrictions placed upon us. We knew that vaccines were months away, so people were excited for the future yet resigned to playing the long game. Plus, with December containing 14 major religious holidays from many faiths across the globe, many people were focused on either spiritual matters or simply being better people.

That was then. This is now. Could this mean the niceties are over, and the gloves are off? Possibly. A lot of things have changed- the biggest one being we've got this burgeoning 5 hanging over us, poking and prodding at us, reminding us that we're all damn sick of waiting- and nothing chafes a 5 more than being held back. Like a pea in a tin can, we're rattling around and bouncing off the walls. The lid has been cracked. We can see the light. But the 7 isn't letting us out, not just yet. Meanwhile, we watch the seconds ticking away on the clock, and like the Tell-Tale heart, the sound of its beating is only growing louder and louder.

On top of it all, I must briefly touch specifically on the USA's transits again, since what happens in The States has a broader impact (and it’s also my country of origin). Please hang in there with me, my international friends.

Ugh.jpg

The USA and its gregarious 5 Birthpath energy are more than ready to have a steamy love affair with that 5 Universal Year. However, it's headed into the 2nd half of its 6 Personal Year instead, which means it's still very much stuck with issues about responsibility and caregiving. January was a 7 Personal Month, and it's quite clear forces that were bubbling under the surface revealed themselves most dramatically right after the USA's "half-birthday." (Personal and Universal Years have apexes at the halfway point, similar to a full moon phase.) Sadly, that overdoing the "hometown pride" vibe I warned about last time did come to pass- and it's still with us.

In February, the USA transitions into an 8 Personal Month. 8 rules over issues regarding money and power. Could Redditors or other grassroots movements pull another GameStop stock heist? Perhaps. It's also possible the patriotic 6 and power-seeking 8 vibe could potentially combine and spawn another angry government-related outburst. 6 and 8 are obstinate, with a capital "O." This combo could generate more power grabs in the name of "love of country." That overarching 7 vibe could mean we can't avoid it or look away, once again shoving it in our faces and demanding we pay attention. Anyway. We shall see.

So. How about some advice for negotiating these numbers?

  • Despite their many differences, 5 and 7 both share a love of things unusual and uncommon. Both numbers are considered offbeat and individualistic, and they require lots of breathing room and mental stimulation. Take virtual online tours, read thrilling books, do something nutty like make silly videos, or how about lightening things up by playing that funny version of Rock, Paper, Scissors with flour? Do something that makes you feel like you are having a mini-adventure, even if you are stuck close to home with fewer entertainment options. After all, you are only as limited as your mind.

  • Both the 5 and 7 favor paying attention to your health. How about introducing a small, measured change or two to supplement your physical wellness? When you care for your body, your mind and spirit will also feel cared for in kind.

  • On top of everything else, we have Mercury Retrograde in play until February 20th, so even if you feel agitated by that 5, remember that both the 7 and Retrograde strongly urge you to keep that agitation in check and not do anything too buck wild. Not yet. Find safer outlets for your pent-up energy.

As we get closer to summer, the current monthly cycle will close, and a new cycle will begin. If we can just stay committed for just a little while longer, we may get to enjoy the clean slate we've all been aching for. Keep going one step at a time with your eyes firmly fixed on the possibility of better days ahead.
