Why tarot?

Tarot is a superior self-awareness tool. It’s an impartial third party, of sorts. If one needs a wake-up call, tarot provides it. It shifts our thinking, gets us out of mental ruts, and inspires us to take action. Like a proverbial wise man on a mountaintop, it drops kernels of truth at our feet and asks us what we will choose to do with them.

It can alert us and make us aware when we need to pay attention most.

It can shift our minds out of hyper-drive and put us in a more harmonious mental flow state.

It can comfort us when our hearts have been troubled.

It can help us side-step unnecessary pain and hardship.

It can put things in a better and more helpful perspective.

It can help us better understand our friends and partnerships, give us insight into what makes them tick, and points out what we might do to improve our relationship dynamics.

It can tell you when it’s time to buckle down and push harder.

It can tell you when you’re wasting your energy and when it’s time to walk away.

It can also be used as a predictive tool. To me, it’s a fabulous way to analyze all the information in play and ascertain the most likely outcomes based on current free-will choices. I’ve found it invaluable in my decision-making processes, and I love using tarot to help others find their own “aha!” moments.

What tarot is not:

  • A replacement for therapy. Think of it instead as an enhancement on your therapeutic journey.

  • A replacement for your relationship with your Higher Power/God/the Universe/your Higher Self, etc. It is a tool to help you increase your connectivity to these things, not THE answer itself.

  • An excuse to stay stuck and not try. Sometimes tarot give us tough answers. Yet, we are here to live and be alive. Tarot can show us what we need to accept, yet it also points us toward what we CAN do. We always have choices.

Knowledge is power. That is the true gift of Tarot.
